HarperCollins PLANS TO ACQUIRE THOMAS NELSON.

HarperCollins has announced they are acquiring Thomas Nelson Publishers.  Harper already owns Zondervan, which is Thomas Nelson’s largest competitor.  Thomas Nelson and Zondervan are the two largest Christian Publishers.  The acquisition is subject to government approval.  Harper also has another religious based unit called HarperOne.  The acquisition is expected to close by year-end.
